I grew up in the northeastern South Dakota town of Hayti, near Watertown. I graduated from Hamlin High School in May of 2000. After high school I received my Bachelor of Science degree in biology from South Dakota State University. Following college I attended Northwestern Health Sciences University in Bloomington, Minnesota and received my Doctor of Chiropractic degree.
In 2007, I started my career in a clinic in Sioux Falls. In the spring of 2008, I also began spending part of my time at a clinic in Estelline, SD, near where I grew up. In 2010, I completed my acupuncture certification at Northwestern Health Sciences University.
In June 2009 I married fellow Chiropractor, Myhre Dorman. Myhre grew up in Chilton, WI and is currently working at Lyon County Chiropractic in Rock Rapids, IA. We are expecting our first child in March 2011 and are kept busy with our dog, Piper.
I discovered chiropractic at a very young age. My first experience with a chiropractor was at the age of six and I have been getting adjusted ever since. I suffered many high school sport injuries from football, basketball and track, all of which got better as a result of chiropractic care. Now that I am a chiropractor myself, I enjoy seeing the satisfaction patients get from chiropractic care. I have wanted to become a Chiropractor as long as I can remember, and I hope one day I will have a patient that chooses a career in chiropractic as I did.
To treat my patients, I utilize a number of different techniques. I have treated patients from 6 months old to 85 years old. My goals for patients include relieving their aches and pains, educating them on the importance of chiropractic care and helping patients discover ways to live a healthier life.
I am very excited to be a part of a prospering community like Luverne. Since I grew up in a small town, I know how important it is to become active in the community. I look forward to getting involved in organizations and activities here in Luverne. I have gained valuable experience these past three years practicing in Sioux Falls and I look forward to helping the citizens of Luverne.
